Welcome to Madrid
The Madrid Marathon has been moved from 26 April to 15 November, although from 26 April to 3 May many of you took part in the EDP Rock’n’Roll Madrid Virtual Run. One of the country’s top annual sports events, this year the marathon will be held at the end of autumn due to the coronavirus pandemic. Classified as a Gold Label Race by the International Athletics Federation, in 2019 its three races were run by over 35000 athletes.
The event, classified as a Gold Label Race by the International Athletics Federation, which is the highest level of excellence, is on the same scale as such well known races as those in New York, London or Berlin. It also forms part of the Rock ‘n' Roll Marathon Series, the world’s biggest running circuit, and there will be live music performances on over 20 stages, a finish line festival, a parallel 10 km race and a half-marathon, turning Madrid into a sporting celebration.
