Planetarium

On Thursday 11 June the Planetarium reopened its screening room with limited capacity and with the following measures in place:

  • Visitors are only allowed to tour the ground floor, where they can visit the projection room and the exhibiton on astrophotography.

  • Visits will take place from Tuesday to Sunday twice a day: at 12 noon with activities aimed at children and at 6pm for families and adults.

  • A maximum of 42 people plus two people in wheelchair will be allowed at a time in the screening room.

  • From 16 July tickets will only be availabe online, from the Planetarium’s official website.

Exhibitions, workshops, projections and activities like star-gazing invite us on a journey to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos.

The Madrid Planetarium reopened in 2017, after a state-of-the-art refurbishment undertaken by Madrid City Council and La Caixa Foundation. The revamped building features new exhibition areas and a modern, high-quality screening system endowed with powerful astronomy software for an amazing journey through the universe.

The planetarium offers fun shows and activities for kids and even allows visitors to explore the night sky live thanks to the Megastar-2 projector.
