Welcome to Madrid
This classic tavern in the Literary Quarter specialises in one particular dish: huevos rotos (scrambled eggs over fried potato and served with strips of ham).
But they are given a novel twist: the eggs are served in a hollowed out bread roll. This tasty sandwich is served with potatoes and another ingredient of your choice, for instance chistorra cooked sausage, surimi elvers, mushrooms, bacalao (salted cod), blue cheese with walnuts or ratatouille. Los Rotos is an idea imported from Logroño originally and the food is accompanied by large tumblers or wine or the traditional glass of draft beer.
