Moncalvillo

This is an informal and pleasant Paris bistro where you will find an eclectic range of partly traditional, partly modern food. Their dishes are easily recognisable without being common. On the contrary, they are light, well prepared, based on quality products and a good value for money. The already classic amuse-gueule -black pudding and apple mousse with praline- would be a good start. Equally good are parmigiano aubergines or crispy scallops with a side of poached artichokes. As main dishes they have steak tartare -with red meat of the best quality- or green risotto in vegetable stock with baby clams, an unmistakable sea and orchard taste. Desserts won’t disappoint you: violet ice cream with bitter-chocolate marquise or tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream -a Parisian specialty- are just some examples. And all this food can be paired with wines from their interesting cellar. In sum, it is getting easier and easier to find a good place to eat in Chueca where food is more important than interior decoration.
