The Flamenco Madrid festival, that will once again be held in May 2024, seeks above all to showcase and promote flamenco - singing, playing, and dance- and Spanish dance, making these disciplines more accessible to the general public through shows, exhibitions, and talks. The main venue for the festival is the Fernán Gómez Cultural Centre, but the programme also takes place at other major cultural venues around the city, such as Matadero Madrid, Conde Duque and CentroCentro, among others.
It will be a month completely dedicated to flamenco with activities like dance, song, exhibitions, conferences and round tables all being part of this event. The programme includes different types of Spanish and international dancing with a great number of shows that will be presented once more at the stages of Salas Guirau and Jardiel Poncela of the Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa.
Dancing, singing and instrumental shows, alongside other interesting activities like exhibitions, round tables and master classes also have their place at this flamenco festival that seeks to remember the importance of Madrid in this art, which was declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
