Performers: Pierre Courbois, drums; Willem Kühne, piano; Jasper Blom, tenor and soprano sax; Louk Boudesteijn; trombone; Rik Mol, trumpet; Niko Langenhuijsen, double bass.
Pierre Courbois is a living legend of Dutch jazz and was one of the first musicians to experiment with free jazz. A great improviser, he blends melodic jazz and experimentation. In 2008 he won the Boy Edgar Award, the highest jazz distinction in the Netherlands.
The Dutch Jazz Weekend is organized by the Carlos de Amberes Foundation with the participation of: Veranos de la Villa (Summers in the City) Festival, the Dutch Fund for the Performing Arts, the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Music Center for the Netherlands (MCN), Unicaja, Kalam, Jazz Círculo, Sala Clamores and Escuela de Música Creativa.
