Okan, "The Feminine Flavor of Cuban Song"

Past Event

This Cuban music group knows how to do Cuban son, salsa and Latin jazz, but its repertoire also includes musical fusions with other Latin rhythms such as merengue, soca and plena. In some cases they introduce folk rhythms using Batá drums. The songs they play are primarily by musicians who compose for Okan, though they also perform pieces of their own.
