We hear the Tagus River, the ships and seagulls and a voice asking Lisbon what it's doing there, eyes fixed on the river like ropes for tying up boats. The ships that leave and do not return shed tears of stone in every corner of the dock. This "fado" speaks to us of Lisbon's connection with the Tagus and with farewells.
