This year, Fescinal will be showing over 200 films: a vast selection of renowned Spanish and foreign films that have premiered in commercial cinemas during the last year. As has been tradition since 1999, it will also host the event “Encounters with directors and actors of Spanish cinema”. In addition, this year, the festival will pay tribute to “Drive-in cinemas” - that unique way of watching films outdoors.
Over the last few years, FESCINAL has been paying increasing attention to its youngest spectators. In this edition, it will be offering them a variety of activities every week and, for the first time, theoretical-practical classes on mini production, the consumption of eco-friendly products and the use of renewable energies.
From Thursday to Sunday, 20:30.

Every Thursday, 21:00

Every Sunday, 21:00

Who doesn’t remember those images of young people enjoying a summer film outdoors, sitting comfortably in their cars, eating popcorn and sipping a drink? Who would turn down the chance to take part in such an experience, to attend a special session in one’s own car?
Enjoy this opportunity for one night only, on June 26. We will be showing the American classic “The Fast & The Furious” and vintage cars from those wonderful years will be parked in front of the screen letting spectators experience the joy of a drive-in theatre. Be witnesses to a truly marvellous show: just squint your eyes, knock the fence down with your imagination and turn your car into a preferential seat.
*We invite all of you who own a classic American car, which is at least 25 years old, to attend the event and become the stars of this tribute.
This activity aims to bring directors closer to their spectators in a live debate, during which directors will analyse their work and character within the context of production, direction and screening of current Spanish cinema.
This season, from July 7 to August 25, we will be devoting 9 days to Spanish Cinema:
Fundación Borau and Fundación Olivar de Castillejo are eager to promote young directors who have made their debut over the last few years and have therefore organised this first festival of young creators. The films will be shown at the headquarters of Fundación Olivar de Castillejo. The foundation will provide a space outdoors, creating the perfect summertime cinema, where they will first be staging a roundtable comprising directors and production companies and will then be screening various films. This will be the perfect opportunity for spectators to learn more about the works of these up-and-coming filmmakers.
