he Madrilian city council's Agency for Economic Development, 'Madrid Emprende,' has opened the ‘Investor Support’ office in Vicálvaro to “provide housing and consultancy services to foreign investors who are interested in establishing themselves in the city,” according to information released Wednesday by the Madrid Consistory.
The office hopes to “attract foreign investments and is a pioneer initiative in Spain, although several others already exist in cities located in Japan, Europe and the USA.”
The project, which includes the collaboration of state, regional, academic and private bodies, will contribute to increasing Madrid's attractiveness as a business headquarter.
‘Investor Support’ is located in Vicálvaro’s company incubator and “provides foreign companies with the necessary information and advice to initiate their projects.”
In addition, it is a physical and free space during the first three months “where one can successfully initiate business activities in Madrid.”
Since its opening, the internationalisation area of the Agency for Economic Development ‘Madrid Emprende’ (www.madridemprende.com) has performed a number of consultancy services for businesses and bodies within sectors such as education, consultancy and training, fashion, logistics, biotechnology and tourism.
During this time, it has also responded to more than 80 inquiries from investors of various nationalities; to date, the initiative’s services have been offered in-person through its offices and virtually through Web page www.investinginmadrid.com.
