Madrid's Teatro Nuevo Apolo will be buzzing with the music and songs of the Beatles through a tribute to the legendary band from Liverpool. They will be performed by another four-piece from the same city, the Mersey Beatles, endorsed by John Lennon's own sister, Julia Baird, who considers them one of the best tribute bands.
The Mersey Beatles began playing in 1999 in Liverpool, performing the biggest hits by Lennon and McCartney's band. Since 2002, they have been playing regularly at The Cavern Club, where the Beatles first made a name for themselves.
Made up of Steven Howard, David Howard, Mark Bloor and Brian Ambrose, the Mersey Beatles have performed at numerous festivals and shows in the UK and outside its borders: France, Germany, Italy, USA, Australia and Indonesia.
