You’re Dreaming is the name of the album that has taken The Cactus Blossoms to the top. It is their debut record for the Red House record label, produced by the great JD McPherson, where brothers Jack Torrey and Page Burkhum offer us a lesson on how to move people by imbibing Americana retro music.
Born and raised in Nordeast, a working-class neighbourhood in Minneapolis, this duo enjoyed folk and classic country music from a very young age, and they ended up performing weekly at The Turf Club, in St. Paul, a venue in their state.
After they supported JD McPherson, this musician became a huge fan of the group. In fact, he ended up producing You’re Dreaming, which they recorded live at a rehearsal studio in Chicago with a huge team of musicians. “It is the culmination of several years of writing, and the affection shown by thousands and thousands of friends. Through a host of characters and experiences, portrayed in simple rhythms and sung in harmony, we try to paint a picture in the listener's mind", said the duo.
