TAO, Samurai of the Drums is a stunning music show by Japanese drum and dance ensemble TAO. An actual fight using traditional Japanese drums, Wadaiko, which can be 1.7m high and over 400k in weight.
After a world tour that drew 7 million viewers, TAO have become a sensation within and without Japan. Since they first performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004, their popularity has never stopped growing.
TAO: The Samurai of the Drum is a powerful show, its mesmerising effect coming from the precision with which the drums are beaten and the perfectly synchronised choreographies. The show has helped reinstate the role of traditional Japanese drums in the country and showed it to the world.
