With outstanding solo dancers Alexandra Kriukova, Maria Klyueva, Azamat Askarov and Nurlan Kinerbaev, the Russian National Ballet are coming to Madrid for a grand performance of the quintessential ballet: Swan Lake.
Composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875/6 and premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1877, Swan Lake is a romantic fable in four acts. Love, magic and a delicate score are its main ingredients, the ones that have turned it into one of the most popular ballets in the history of world dance.
Swan Lake tells the love story of Prince Siegfried and Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. The spell can only be broken if one who has never loved before swears to love Odette forever. A tale about the fight between good and evil – and how they co-exist in the soul of man.
