The Ibermúsica Foundation 16/17 hosts the performance of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, which will perform a selection of works with the collaboration of one of the best trumpet players in the world, Håkan Hardenberger.
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1880, which makes it the second oldest symphonic orchestra in the United States, preceded only by the New York Philharmonic.
David Robertson (California, United States, 1958) is the current director of this 136-year old musical ensemble. Passionate about music, he is considered to be one of the most important directors ever; his extensive repertoire and his numerous collaborations with the leading orchestras of the world have led him and his great communication skills to become a reference in music. In 2014, Robertson celebrated eleven years as the director of the SLT.
In the 2015/16 season, David Robertson went on a tour of California along with the St. Louis Symphony, in which they masterfully performed Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 and Des canyons aux étoiles by Messiaen
Håkan Hardenberger (Malmö, Sweden, 1961), one of the world’s best trumpet players, is renowned for his innovation and his passionate performances. He is the pioneer of new trumpet pieces, such as Both Sides Now and a masterful performer of classic pieces.
