The Californian artist Sam Outlaw back again after his visit in April to present his latest record Angelino as an acoustic duo.
Angelino is the third album released by the artist since he brought out his debut record Nobody loves in 2013, followed a year later by the EP Sam Outlaw. Thanks to his records, he has been signed as the support act for some of his idols, including Yoakam and Clint Black.
The Californian singer-songwriter, who began singing in church, has influences from the West Coast country sound, the 60s Bakersfield sound, 70s honky tonk, and Laurel Canyon. By blending all these influences and adding his own personal touch, he creates his own "SoCal country', country with Californian soul.
This latest album combines brilliant melodies with hints of mariachi music in Who Do You Think You Are?, a honky tonk twist in I´m not jealous and the humour of the musician's rhymes in a Saturday night song And drive me to a bar.
He recorded this album in the Megawatt Studios in Los Angeles, together with a band made up of Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket), Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Gabe Witcher (Punch Brothers) and Chuy Guzmán (Linda Ronstadt).
