The American pianist is coming to Clamores to perform his latest tracks, which are a beautiful fusion of jazz, R&B and hip-hop. A hotchpotch born in the warmth of a childhood spent in a house filled with Motown records.
Robert Glasper (Houston, Texas, USA, 1978) will be performing songs from his latest album, Everything’s Beautiful (released by Columbia / Legacy), where he imagines what kind of music trumpet player Mile Davis would make in our century.
This, his latest album, comes on the back of his work for the soundtrack to the film Miles Ahead (the biopic of his idol, played in the film by the actor Don Cheadle). His back catalogue also includes two volumes of Black Radio, the first of which earned him a Grammy for best R&B album three years ago.
