The historical era between the 5th and 15th centuries is the main feature of this exhibition in which diverse objects from the British Museum are used to understand crucial facts of the era and raise awareness of key aspects of the medieval world.
The exhibition will kick off with the fall of the Roman Empire and will guide visitors, explaining some of the characteristics of the period: the essential role of Christianity in everyday life, the lifestyles of the different social classes and social, cultural and political evolution. Life in the cities will be highlighted as well as the increase in farmers, traders and professions with the urbanisation of Europe.
The impressive London museum boasts one of the most important collections on the Middle Ages, beginning with the years following the march of the Roman legions, marked by the Saxon and Viking invasions. It includes objects of great historical value and is now coming to the citizens of Madrid and tourists who wish to visit this latest cultural proposal at the Madrid Caixaforum.
