Merrill Beth Nisker (Toronto, Canada, 1966), known as Peaches, is an electroclash singer and songwriter, whose songs stand out for their explicit lyrics and their sexual connotations. She also stands out for her eccentric wardrobe and her exuberant style.
Before becoming Peaches, she was a music and drama teacher at a primary school. She is multi-faceted: she plays the musical instruments for her songs, programmes her own beats and records and produces her own albums.
In 1995, she released her first album, Fancypants Hoodlum, under the name of Merrill Nisker. Later, she created her own style which led to her internationally fame as Peaches. In addition to this first album, she has also released: The Teaches of Peaches (2000), Fatherfucker (2003), Impeach My Bush (2006) and I Feel Cream (2009).
