This major event for video gamers, on a par with leading gaming shows such as London and Paris, is making a few changes at this latest edition: the name has changed and it has evolved to become a completely experiential event for the general public.
MADRID GAMING EXPERIENCE is the new name for the MADRID GAMES WEEK, and this latest edition is expected to draw even higher visitor numbers than in the past (over 90,000 at the previous edition). This year it is changing its format; doing away with the professional events and putting gamers centre stage, with a commitment to innovation and new contents.
This Show aims to offer younger audiences the best gaming experiences through all the existing platforms for all kinds of games. To do this, the event will be spread over a longer period of time, to make it easier for people to attend, solve problems of overcrowding, and offer the best experiences. It will continue to include an eSports area, an eCombat area, and a Retro area together with the Gamelab Academy Developers Area, and the Manga Zone, in addition to other new features, where young gamers from all over Spain can play and gain unlimited access to the latest offers on the market. This major new fair in the gaming industry, organised by IFEMA, is supported by GAME, the leading retailer in console games, which has a market share of 50% in Spain, with over 300 outlets all around the country.
