The latest edition of the Frontiers season will include a performance by Jorge Pardo and Pepe Habichuela presenting as part of a quintet a show that offers highlights from their two careers whilst incorporating a new element, dance. It also pays tribute to the great maestros Enrique Morente and Paco de Lucía.
Flamenco Universal has for the first time brought together two of the greatest standard bearers of flamenco music today, Jorge Pardo and Pepe Habichuela. They are coming together in a show to perform highlights from the repertoire of the Habichuela family, Pepe and Josemi Carmona, together with Pardo's most outstanding compositions.
The show also includes an element of dance and will pay tribute to colleagues and professionals who have helped put Flamenco on the list of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The show Flamenco Universal first opened on 3 November at Theatre Maison de L´UNESCO in Paris to an audience of 1500 international representatives of global culture. Pardo and Habichuela will be accompanied on guitar by Josemi Carmona, with Bandolero on percussion, and Pablo Báez on double bass.
