The Madrid Fair hosts the 19th edition of Expocómic, a not to be missed event for fans of the ninth art and a reference in pop culture in Spain, where comic, illustration, film, series, videogames, cosplay, music, exhibitions and much more can be enjoyed.
This latest edition is the first to be organised at IFEMA by EasyFairs, so the area has been extended to 16,200 square metres in which a variety of activities (yet to be confirmed) will take place, including contents on comics, television series, films, videogames or music, reaching a larger public.
As usual, leading national and international authors from the comic world will participate in the event, which will have an area for young artists, a portfolio review area, exhibitions, high quality workshops... where comics, graphic novels, children’s illustrations… will be the main feature.
The programme includes exhibitions, workshops for all ages, master classes, signing sessions, concerts and Cosplay competitions, as well as the presence of international actors. This edition also includes cosplayers of Cat's Cosplay Kingdom, Elle Cosplay, Sumyuna Cosplay and Zihark Cosplay, that will offer talks and various worshops. And, as one of the highlights, the Scottish actor Ray Park, famous throughout the world for his role as Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - Phantom Menace, will be present on Saturday and Sunday for the panel/Q&A sessions lasting 45 minutes, as well as photo sessions and signing autographs for fans.
One of the novelties of this edition is the participation of the fair in the events to mark the fourth centenary of the death of Cervantes with the joint exhibition Passion and Insanity: Versions by Don Quixote, in which leading national artists will offer their own vision of this universal work of the Hispanic arts.
