The jazz cycle backed by the CNDM will include the trio headed by the pianist from Jacksonville, leaving behind his facet as accompanist. Brad Mehldau (Jacksonville, United States, 1970) will offer a recital of the best contemporary jazz, one of the cycle’s most powerful events.
In recent years, the Brad Mehldau Trio has been crowned as a solid group. The artist is accompanied by two talented and loyal musicians who have more than demonstrated their skills. Jeff Ballard and Larry Grenadier, on the drums and double bass respectively, have become the perfect complement for the pianist.
Far away are the years in which Mehldau trained and matured in the company of other great jazz players, such as Bill Evans or Keith Jarret. With the experience accumulated over the years and his musical growth, he stands out for his daring compositions and own ideas, even including influences from groups which are a far cry from the jazz genre, such as those of the English group, Radiohead.
