It's been two years since their last album. Two years recovering from the death of Jonathan Athon, one of the band's founder members, who died in a motorcycle accident as he left the recording studio. With serenity, courage and confidence, the drummer James May and guitarist Andrew Fidler decided to move forward and found a new bass player to complete the trio, Corey Barhosrst, former member of Kylesa.
Their new album Pillar of Ash, which features eleven tracks, continues along the lines of their brand of Sludge Metal that they define as Swamp Metal. Eleven incisive, corrosive, dynamic, very hardcore death metal tracks, offering diversity and rhythmic variation.
The band has remained true to the formula that brought them success, although the new recruit adds certain elements of freshness. Desolation in Endless Times and Bleed on Your Knees are two of the new songs on their latest record.
