Following two intense years of a hit tour with Ara 15, the Lebanese violinist, Ara Malikian, is returning to the Royal Theatre with a new repertoire focusing on her latest album, The Incredible History of the Violin, in which the star is her violin.
It was at the Royal Theatre in Madrid where Ara Malikian (Beirut, Lebanon, 1968) began her career in Spain fifteen years ago. Now she is embarking on The Incredible Violin Tour, a wonderful 20-month journey around the world, which will kick off with the release of the album, The Incredible History of the Violin, in October and its subsequent premiere at the Royal Theatre on 28 December.
In The Incredible History of the Violin, the absolute star is the violin. This violin was made in Modena and travelled to Lebanon with the aim of finding Ara at the age of three, which her father, who is also a violinist, taught her to play. Together, they discovered different musical genres over the years through their travels, merging sounds and even reaching rock and pop music.
