Another distinguée is the fifth in the series of Distinguished Pieces by Madrid-based choreographer La Ribot. A modern dance performance that explores the sensuality of the Baroque.
With diverse dance styles and techniques, María José Ribot Manzano (Madrid, Spain, 1962) uses body movement to investigate sexual liberation in Spain. She combines performance with classical choreography to create immense visual beauty.
Awarded the National Dance Prize in 2000, La Ribot launched her series of Piezas distinguidas (Distinguished Pieces) in 1993, and plans to create 100 pieces. Her most important productions include El gran game, 40 espontáneos and Gustavia.
