She recently sold out at the Fado Festival; and on the back of this success, she decided to tour numerous cities in Spain. The aim of this event is to spread Fado music beyond the borders of Portugal, as a musical genre that is so typical of that country and yet which has no equivalent elsewhere.
With her latest album, Moura, she has now chalked up a total of one million records sold for her total of six albums released to date. She has worked with the likes of Prince, the Rolling Stones, Herbie Hanckock and Caetano Veloso.
In her search for international recognition, Ana Moura has become the biggest name on the Fado scene today, a global ambassador for this movement. In her home country she has also been recognised for her work in this arena and she is one of the most renowned artists in Portugal, often appearing on Portuguese television, earning a Platinum record, and regularly entering the charts.
