Tourist Travel Pass
In a large city like Madrid, you’ll definitely need to travel from one sight to another. The extensive and modern local public transport network makes it easy to get around and guarantees that you’ll make the most of your visit. The Tourist Travel Pass gives you unlimited use of all public transport in the Region of Madrid within the period of validity, which makes it a practical and economical way to move about the city. There are five types of travel passes, with a duration of 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 calendar days, and for two zones, A and T, with prices ranging from 8.40 to 70.80 euros for adults and from 4.20 to 35.40 euros for children under 11 years of age. The Travel Pass can be purchased in all Metro stations, in Tourist Offices, in the offices of the Regional Transport Consortium, at most tourist attractions and over the Internet; it’s also on sale at some tobacconists and newsstands.
If you want to explore sites further afield with a magnificent historical and artistic heritage, Ávila and Segovia aren’t to be missed. Or maybe you have time to go on one of the many tours of Toledo (including admission to museums, guided tour, high-speed train ticket and even meals). All three cities are a short journey from the capital (less than 100km), and they’re well worth a visit.
Finally, to catch the power of flamenco art, the best place is probably Corral de la Morería. Cards granting admission to the show in this internationally renowned venue include a drink, a tapas menu or a VIP menu.
