Located in Plaza de Jesús stands the Cristo de Medinaceli Church, home to a 17th-century statue of Jesus of Nazareth and a place of great devotion among the residents of Madrid.
The church was declared a minor basilica by Pope Paul VI in 1973. The statue of Christ can be visited in the crypt during the church's opening times.
