Marlborough was founded in London in 1946 by Frank Lloyd and Harry Fisher. David Somerset, the present Duke of Beaufort and third member of the firm, joined Marlborough in 1948. It has galleries in the major European and North American cities and is deemed to be one of the best galleries in the world.
Marlborough focuses on two principal activities; the purchase and sale of old paintings and paintings and sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries, and as the agent for a broad collection of contemporary artists from Europe, United States, South America and Asia.
