The Mapfre Foundation demonstrates its commitment to photography with a series of exhibitions each year. Since 2014 they have been held in the Foundation's exhibition hall in Calle Bárbara de Braganza.
The Art Walk thus has a venue specialising in photography to complement the city's other cultural attractions. Comprising a total of 868 square metres on two separate floors, it is located near the Foundation's Sala Recoletos and opposite the National Library. Each year it hosts four exhibitions by photographers of recognised international standing such as Walker Evans, Fazal Sheikh, Graciela Iturbide, and Lisette Model. Their work was previously exhibited at the Foundation's Sala de Azca but the programme has been transferred to the Sala Bárbara de Braganza.
