This is one of the key works from the last stage of Modernism in Madrid. A work by the architect Federico Arias Rey, the project was the renovation of an earlier building in 1911.
The most characteristic thing about this building, which is located near Plaza de España, is its façade, which stands out due to its soft curves and a series of decorative elements that almost make a sculptor of the architect. The light tones of the walls contrast with the roof, which is covered in slate tiles. On the large dome crowning the corner of the building, a G stands out – this is characteristic of Gallardo.
