Tandem uses a humanistic approach to teaching languages, with a view to facilitating understanding between people of different countries and cultures.
Classes are given entirely in Spanish and are divided into different teaching blocks. The objective of all Tandem's teachers is to make the student able to communicate effectively in Spanish.
Tandem was founded in 1982 at the time when the Goethe Institut in Madrid was expanding rapidly in terms of numbers of students. It was within this context that a group of Spanish and German students created Tandem in order to learn together in an independent manner which gave rise to an innovative method for learning languages.
