Opened in 1943 and operating continuously for almost 70 years, this traditional market, which can be entered from Alonso Cano, García de Paredes or Viriato, has become one of Madrid's best known markets, for both the quality and the variety of the produce and services it offers.
As a result of the comprehensive refurbishment of the building, the traditional market on the ground floor has been modernised and improved, while the first floor has become home to the Maná gym, which has a swimming pool. There are the over 50 stalls on the ground floor and a good number of shops on the outside of the precinct where customers can find a quality selection of many products, including meat, fish and seafood (both fresh and frozen), cured meats, cheese and ham, poultry, fruit and vegetables, bread and cakes, pickles, coffee and oil.
Items to decorate the home, clothes and accessories, flowers, plants, household goods, etc. are also available. The market has its own car park for customers with direct access to the premises. For information on all Madrid's municipal markets go to Mercados de Madrid
