Santos Seseña Rojas was a tailor by trade who started making handmade Spanish capes in 1901, using traditional hand cutting and sewing methods in this premises near Sol, now run by the fourth generation of the family. The cape is traditionally a man’s garment but its comfort and elegant design has also found a place in women’s fashion.
This establishment is exclusively dedicated to making capes, so it has an endless range of designs to choose from, from the most classic to the most flamboyant. It has moved with the times so well that it was one of the very first Spanish shops to do business online (1998). Customers include celebrities from the 20th century world of culture, film and politics such as Hillary Clinton, Picasso, Buñuel, Rodolfo Valentino, Plácido Domingo, Hemingway, Gary Cooper, Catherine Deneuve and Federico Fellini, as well as the Spanish Royal Family.
