The Lobo family has occupied this shop in La Latina for over a century and are still wholly dedicated to their famous espadrilles, traditional regional costume shows and dance shoes. Nowadays they also stock stage and vintage shoes, supplying distinguished clients like Teatro Alla Scala in Milan.
The shop is always crowded and its huge range of colours attracts large numbers of people, especially when the weather is warm, so you will usually have to queue to get in. Timoteo Lobo, the current manager’s great-grandfather, enlarged the shop in 1924. However, the alterations preserved original features such as the interior decor, the shelves and the wooden counter or the display windows and the attractive zinc roof outside the shop, a very common feature in late 19th century shops here in Madrid.
