This is an elegant restaurant, keen on details and very light thanks to its big windows. It is a pleasant place where you can taste a delicious author’s Basque cuisine. According to their own description, Urkiola Mendi is a place to eat, drink, listen to music, talk, exchange ideas… On their menu, a fresh market cuisine prevails. They change their dishes according to the natural gastronomic calendar. Some examples are: curry leek croquetas; baby squid in its ink with green pepper sauce and pieces of txistorra from Arbizu; cod club-ranero, pil pil or Biscay style, or charcoal grilled monkfish in Bilbao sauce and fresh salad. They also have a wine and water list as well as a dessert menu and an “after-lunch menu” (coffee, tea, sweet and generous wines, cigars, malt whiskeys, rums, liqueurs…). Every Thursday they have a jazz or blues concert and the restaurant pairs food depending to the band. Thus, it is possible to listen to live music by the best current musicians in Madrid, who play their music in a different style and environment. Besides, they have a pleasant and quiet terrace during summer months.
