Madrid’s Hare Krishna Temple offers food in exchange for a donation (6 euros), from Monday to Friday (at 3:15pm) and on Saturdays (at 3pm). If you arrive early, you can hear the monk’s daily chants. You must remove your shoes before you enter and there is little room to sit down when you eat (another option is to take one of the mats on the floor). A single dish with wholegrain rice, puree and salad, served on a tray with rustic bread, a slice of cake and a herbal tea. A different vegetarian dining experience.
