Pepita Jiménez is an opera by Isaac Albéniz to a libretto in English - which is kept in the original this time - by Francis Money-Coutts, based on the novel of the same name by Juan Valera. The director Calixto Bieito uses his personal and groundbreaking vision for this show, which is his first Spanish opera. 19, 21, 23 & 25 May.
Miguel Poveda
The award-winning Catalan flamenco singer, who has just turned forty, is celebrating his 25th anniversary in the world of music. During his short career he has taken part in renowned international festivals, collaborated with the greatest flamenco singers, from Enrique Morente and Carmen Linares to Paco de Lucía, and has received the most prestigious accolades which cement him as one of the greatest singers of the genre. 21 June.
