In a quiet street off the busier Calle Fernando VI and behind a rather ancient wooden door lies a pleasant and agreeable little café, whose décor takes us back to the “good old days”. Marble tables with iron or wooden legs, mirrors with rococo-style frames… low lighting only accompanied by the warm light of candles, one per table, make it an ideal spot for couples. A place, which encourages long conversations.
In the afternoon it is a great spot to go for a coffee, infusion or soft drink in a relaxed atmosphere with soft background music. The evening sees it turn into the perfect setting to enjoy the first drink of the evening or to sip a mojito, or other cocktail, without having to brave Madrid’s wild nightlife. One of the most popular tables is the one next to the window, where the lucky ones sit chatting till the early hours of the morning.
