Bankia Flamenco Festival

Now in its 20th year, this year's flamenco festival pays homage to recently deceased guitarist Moraíto Chico, with a concert featuring José Mercé and other singers of the genre (February 9). Estrella Morente (February 7), Rancapino (February 8), Niño Josele (February 10) and María Toledo (February 11) will also perform at the Circo Price.

 

The Clemency of Tito

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed The Clemency of Tito - performed for the first time in Prague in 1791 - ten years after writing his last serious opera. In what would become the last summer of the musician's life, opera impresario Guardasoni commissioned the piece to commemorate the enthronement of Leopold II, King of Bohemia. Musical directors Thomas Hengelbrock and Peter Tilling take part in this new production at the Teatro Real.
