SPRING SEASON AT LA Zarzuela Racecourse

On 11 March, Madrid's racecourse will kick off the Spring 2012 season, which will last till July and host a total of 30 days of races: 16 from March to the end of June (Sunday mornings); 2 in April (the last two Fridays of the month in the afternoon) 4 in May (Friday afternoons); and 8 from June to July (every Thursday evening)

Spend a day watching the races at this stunning venue next to the Monte de El Pardo forest. It is the perfect place to enjoy good food and a form of leisure which has been popular in Spain for many years. Situated in one of the most emblematic spots in the capital, the racecourse boasts large outdoor areas and offers entertainment for the whole family (under 14s are allowed in for free). Kids will not only be able to enjoy the beauty of the actual horses, but will also have access to large green areas, bouncy castles, a kiddies' park, ponies, face and body painting services and a dance area, all free of charge.

On Sunday mornings the first race will start at 11.15am and the last one at 2pm.
