Below you will find all the week's film releases. And don't forget that Madrid boasts a total of eleven movie-houses showing films in their original language. Cine Doré, the exhibition hall of Filmoteca Española, screens an average of four films a day, consisting of both Spanish movies and subtitled foreign features in their original language. For documentaries or films which are no longer showing in cinemas, you will find just what you are looking for at La Casa Encendida or La Casa de América.

Films in their original language (with Spanish subtitles)

  • Lo mejor de Eva (Spanish, no subtitle): Leonor Watling and Miguel Ángel Silvestre star in this thriller about a judge who is totally absorbed in her work until she meets Rocco, a gigolo involved in the case she is investigating. Directed by Mariano Barroso (Los Lobos de Washington).
  • War Horse (English): Steven Spielberg is the director of this story about the friendship between a young man and his horse. They are separated when the horse is sold to the British cavalry after the outbreak of the First World War.
  • Safe House (English): Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds star in this action-packed film about a former CIA agent pursued by various organisations wanting to kill him.
  • La guerre est declarée (French): French drama telling the story of Roméo and Juliette, who discover that their son has a brain tumour and have to find the strength to fight his illness.
