You can easily travel from central Madrid to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport by bus. The express line operates 24 hours a day, which is great for passengers who have to get to or from the airport between 1.30 and 6am.
The Exprés Aeropuerto (Airport Express shuttle) completes the journey in approximately 40 minutes, running every 15 minutes during the day and every 35 minutes at night. Single tickets cost 5 euros and are purchased on the coach.
Offering express service, the coaches make only three stops, on the corner of O’Donnell and Doctor Esquerdo, on Plaza de Cibeles (EMT night bus stop) and at Atocha Station (only between 6am and 11.30pm). At the airport, they depart from terminals T1, T2 and T4, where the terminus is located.
The yellow coaches are easily visible. They seat up to 88 passengers and have ample racks to leave your luggage. You’re allowed to bring on suitcases, bags and wheeled bags (no more than 23kg per item) in the shapes and sizes approved by the Aviation Authority. Luggage must be safely stowed to prevent yourself and other passengers from getting injured. Exprés Aeropuerto won’t charge you for carrying your luggage.
