Just one look at Hotel Plaza Mayor is enough to sense its historical value, since it is located in the former house of Church of Santa Cruz, demolished in 1875. On this same site the present construction was built on that same year, originally conceived as housing in the neoclassical style of the time.
The most traditional corners, from Plaza Mayor to Plaza de la Villa, through Puerta del Sol or Plaza de Tirso de Molina, are all in within few metres from the hotel. Respecting all this tradition and artistic and historical legacy, Hotel Plaza Mayor opened its doors in 1997 intending to become a referent for tourists who are looking to truly experience the deepest Madrilenian idiosyncrasy. For that reason, its 31 rooms, most of which have windows onto the street overlooking Austrias, are fully equipped with everything necessary to guarantee guests comfort and satisfaction. Suite del Palomar deserves a special mention. It is a pleasant and spacious room -over 40 square metres- located in the attic of the building. Its large and carefully decorated terrace offers guests the possibility of contemplating the spectacular views of the rooftops in the most genuine neighbourhood in the city.
