On Wednesday the Councillor of the Economy and Consumer Affairs presented the conclusions of a study conducted by consultancy firm Deloitte, in which Madrid was ranked the third major European financial centre –behind London and Paris– and fourth in the world. 	Indian corporate giant IL&FS buys out Madrid-based Elsamex According to sources close to the transaction, the Asian giant, which had shown interest in the capital market, private management of public works and energy, signed the acquisition of the Madrid-based Spanish company after tough negotiations with shareholders. 	Madrid´s GDP grew 3.56 percent from 2000 to 2007 Madrid´s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 3.56 percent between 2000 and 2007, surpassing the national average, which registered at 3.4 percent. More information
